The 2-day photo exhibition of Sikder Mesbahuddin Ahmed titled ‘Traveler on Top & Beyond’ was held at Jackson Heights in New York on December 4 & 5, 2021. South Asian Writers and Journalists Forum (SAWJF) organized the event. Eminent music guru Muttalib Biswas inaugurated the exhibition. He also handed over a reception memorandum to the photographer following the inauguration.
A pilot by profession, the photographer Mr Mesbahuddin possesses a global perspective in his camera eye like his professional sightedness. For that reason his exhibiting photographs included objects of various parts of the world. This wide ranging view of the photographer enriched his camera handling which created some special photographs. Obviously his keen eyes were sharp enough to find out attractive scenes also from the motherland– Bangladesh.
The inaugural function was followed by a musical program where Mr Muttalib Biswas also offered songs.
A total of 30 extraordinary pictures were displayed in the exhibition.
Conducted by journalist & litterateur Akbar Haider Kiron the inaugural function was attended, among others, by elderly journalist Manzur Ahmed, famous actress Rekha Ahmed, freedom fighter & artist Tajul Imam, sports legend Said-ur-Rabb, Saidur Rahman Don, famous photographer Obaidulla Mamun, TV personality Shameem Shahed,
senior journalist Main Uddin Ahmed, Time TV CEO Abu Taher, sculptor Akter Ahmed Rasha, journalist Monir Haider, Shibbir Ahmed, Mohammad Sayeed, photojournalist Neher Siddique, business tycoon Gias Ahmed Belal and Mahmud Hossain Badsha. Most of them spoke on the occasion praising the photographic works of Sikder Mesbahuddin Ahmed.
At the concluding function Akbar Haider Kiron handed over an award to Mr Mesbahuddin for his excellence in photography on behalf of South Asian Writers & Journalists Forum. It may be mentioned here that Sikder Mesbahuddin already won many global awards for excellence of his photography.
He snaps photo like an artist mixing the color of mind, said journalist Main Uddin Ahmed. This speciality of Masbahuddin’s photos, more enriched with his aerial view as a pilot, makes his works totally different than those of others which highlights him in a very different way. At the first sight anyone could get confused whether it is an art work or photograph, Ahmed added. “His photos are really pleasant”, said another photo expert.
At the finishing of the program this photographer made another exceptional instance of extraordinary feature– he presented many of his photos to distinguished personalities present there.
A rising photographer said, our good wishes will remain with him for ever and photographers of the time will earnestly hope to follow the excellent style he reflected in all of his displayed photographs.
