The 17-year-old 12 grade student from Bangladeshi community in Toronto, Nadia Mozumder, who struck by a minivan nearby her school, Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute while crossing the intersection of Birchmount and Danforth and later died on the way to hospital last Tuesday, her father Azizul Mozumder tearfully told reporters “I lost my everything; she was beloved one, I want justice for all parents” at the Islamic Research Centre Canada, where his daughter’s funeral prayers took place on Thursday afternoon.
A family friend said, “Nadia was born in Hamilton in Ontario and she was wise beyond her years and had only recently spent two weeks at her grandmother’s home where she talked about her dreams for the future for becoming a nurse. Also, her peers described that, “She was always cheerful; a community volunteer with lots of big dreams and hopes to support her community.”
As mourners buried Nadia on the same day at Richmond Hill Muslim Cemetery, they all felt her deeply in their hearts.
