মঙ্গলবার সকালে এনওয়াইপিডি’র  পুলিশ একাডেমীতে জমকালো এক অনুষ্ঠানে  পদোন্নতি প্রাপ্তদের হাতে সার্টিফিকেট তুলে দেন পুলিশ কমিশনার ডারমোট শিয়া।
মেহবুবুর রেহামান (পারভেজ) হলেন এন ওয়াই ডি এর একজন সদ্য পদোন্নতিপ্রাপ্ত লেফটেন্যান্ট, যিনি নিউইয়র্ক শহরের জনগণকে সুরক্ষা ও সেবা প্রদান করার জন্য ২২ বছর বয়সে পুলিশ বাহিনীতে যোগদান করেন এবং ১১ বছর ধরে সিটি-ওয়াইড টাস্ক ফোর্স এবং অ্যান্টি-টেরোরিজম ইউনিটের সাথে কাজ করেন। সার্জেন্টে পদোন্নতি পেয়ে, পারভেজ ৭২ তম প্রিসিন্ট এর অপরাধ বিরোধী সার্জেন্ট হিসাবে কাজ করেছেন। গত বছরে, পারভেজ ব্রুকলিন সাউথ বরো ক্রাইম ইউনিটে চলে আসেন এবং লেফটেন্যান্টে তার সাম্প্রতিক পদোন্নতি পাওয়ার আগ পর্যন্ত  সেখানেই কাজ করেন।  পারভেজ আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষার দায়িত্ব পালনে অবিচল থাকে এবং গর্বের সাথে সেবা প্রদান করেন।

পারভেজ ১১ বছর বয়সে বাংলাদেশের নোয়াখালী থেকে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে পাড়ি জমান বাবা তোফাজ্জল হুসেন এবং মা আফিয়া বেগম সহ ৬ ভাইবোন নিয়ে।  পারভেজ জন জে কলেজ থেকে ফৌজদারি বিচারে ব্যাচেলর অফ আর্টস ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেছেন।   পারভেজের স্ত্রী জোয়ানা এবং তাদের ২ সন্তান, জায়েন এবং জোয়েক।

এছাড়াও ট্রাফিক এনফোর্সমেন্ট এজেন্ট লেভেল ২ থেকে অ্যাসোসিয়েট ট্রাফিক এনফোর্সমেন্ট এজেন্ট লেভেল ১-এ উন্নীত হয়েছেন: মোহাম্মদ ইমরান, সাইদ সিদ্দিকী , মোহাম্মদ আবদুল আজাদ , এমডি আবুবকর সিদ্দিক , সৈয়দ হুসেন।

BAPA would like to congratulate our proud members on their well deserved promotion. Sergeant Mehbubur Rehaman was promoted to rank of Lieutenant and following members are promoted from Traffic enforcement agent level-ll to Associate Trafic enforcement agent level- I : Mohammad Imran, (MN ), Sayed Siddiki (MN), Mohammad Abdul Azad (BN), MD Abubakar Siddik (QS), Syed Hussain (QNS Tow). BAPA is very proud of them.

Mehbubur Rehaman (Parvez) is a newly promoted Lieutenant of the NYPD, who is responsible for protecting and serving the people of New York city. Parvez joined the police force at a young age of 22 and worked with the City-Wide Task Force and the Anti-Terrorism Unit for 11 years. On promotion to Sergeant, Parvez served the 72nd Precinct as an Anti-Crime Sergeant and as an SBA delegate, protecting the rights of people and his fellow sergeants (4+ years). Over the past year, Parvez moved to the Brooklyn South Borough Crime unit and served that community until his recent promotion to Lieutenant.
